I am keeping and using cars more than ordinary people do and I have been using Jorge as my primary car repair and service garage for about 10 years. At beginning, I went there based on the recommendations of reasonable charge for good repair. Very quickly, I realized that this is a very good family owned garage can do everything I asked, and Jorge is the one I can trust. So I just keep coming back and give he all kind works in my mind, as long as he is available. He had done all kind of works for me like as big as $10K worth accident car refinish, and as small as I bring oil and filter to change engine oil or nailed tire repair. My family always asked me when one of my cars need something done "going to Jorge?". Highly recommended, as long as your car is out of manufactory warranty, all kind of jobs, leave it to Jorge, as long as he had room for you. -

Message: I have been going to Jorge for my car needs since I was introduced to him by my best friend back in 2010 or so (too long to remember). Not only do I trust his professional diagnosis, I respect his extensive knowledge. He truly is the best at what he does. I asked on Tuesday if I could get service on my car (oil change, air filter replaced, and serpentine belt replaced) - within 10 minutes, I had an appointment for Wednesday (It is important that mention that I live 40 minutes away and I don't mind the drive because I know I am going to get the best service - this is extremely important to me). It is true that the shop looks cluttered and it is true that the seating area and bathroom needs improvement, but his service is best to none. If you're looking for comfort as you wait, you're not going to have it. BUT, if you're looking for the best service/advice/work/opinion JORGE is the MECHANIC for you!
For best experience, ask a friend to go with you. Drop your car off. You and your friend go have lunch or coffee in the area while you wait. Your friend drives you back. Your car will, for sure, be done and done well.

Message: My only affiliation with Jorge's Garage is as a DELIGHTED customer over the last 2.5 years.
When I bought my last Odyssey, the previous owner showed me the repair receipts adn when I asked about Jorge's receipt, he told me he goes to Jorge all the time. When I had to do the 100,000 maintenance, a long list of replacements in confined spaces, I asked him to do a couple of extra replacements, specifically the hydraulic tensioner. When he gave me his estimate, I did a double take and asked him where he got the parts, he said they were OEM. The price was about 40% off what AAA and other local services who use "the Book". I ended up going with him and I saw the jobber's truck, a honda dealer's truck, and saw the Honda parts. Needless to say I was happy. 55,000 miles later, no problems with anything from the major maintenance. I have three vehicles that all go to him. Recently my son was in town with a problem with his van door not fully closing, you had to push it the last bit in. I texted Jorge and he said he could take a look at it since he knew my son was only here for 3 days. When we visited, he looked at it for a bit, and told us he could not fix it in the time allotted because it was a part he would only be comfortable ordering via the honda dealer and it would take too long. He explained that the part was not adjustable. So my son didn't get to use Jorge, but Jorge made sure we understood why. Note, I took my son's van there. He doesn't have a beautiful sitting area, and the shop looks a bit run down, but you get solid diagnosis, quick repairs, and great prices, so I use Uber or friends. Also note he asks for cash and he will let you use checks after he knows you, again, for the honest, reliable service, not an issue to me at all. I wholeheartedly give a thumbs WAY up for Jorge's Garage. -

Message: I I live in statesville, I went on a trip to Durham on a Tuesday and my car was damaged on Wednesday there I did not know what it could be because my vehicle had a new battery and had been inspected the previous Monday, I was very worried about how I would return to my city. Luckily, a friend who lives in Durham recommended Jorge Garage. My vehicle entered the garage in crane on Wednesday at 4:00 PM. The same Wednesday Jorge Garage made the diagnosis, quoted the costs and when it would be ready. Everything seemed very reliable, I accepted the business because it seemed very appropriate. I got quote from Meineke to fix my oil leaking problem for $340 but Jorge only asked $220. Decent price here and never had any problem. I guess the reason why his price is so low is the difference between privately owned garage and corporate garage. Firestone or Meineke they have workers and managers to pay so the cost will be on the customers. Jorge cut out a lot of unnecessary cost.

Subject: Turbine Speed Sensor (TSS)
Message: Great price, honest service, and thumb up! Jorge's would be the place to go if you have had enough bullshit from the dealership.
I know this is a kind of rare problem, and it seems only Ford/Mazda use this so called TSS in their cars. My vehicle, a 2004 Mazda6, had its check engine light on, and I pulled the code from Autozone, which turns out to be P0715. I went to the dealer, they checked it for me, and said all I need to do is to replace this TSS. What was ridiculous was that, the dealer asked $140 for the TSS, and 2 hours of labor for the replacement, so that would come in total of $360. Thanks to google and a friend of me, I could tell that they are justing exaggerating about the price. In the end, I ordered the part online for $17, and had it installed at Jorge's for $50 (about 45 min of service). What Jorge did in addition was that he cleaned the exterior part of the engine, washed the battery, explained my concerns in great detail, and gave a suggestion of better maintenance. My thanks to Jorge, and he surely rocks. -

Message: I am new to Raleigh. I traveled over 2,000 miles from the Southwest to relocate here. Weeks after I arrived, I decided to take the car to the Cadillac dealer to have my 2003 DeVille serviced. I paid the mechanic $200 to diagnose my problems. Was I ever surprised when the mechanic gave me a laundry list of items needing service. It amounted to over $5,000. OUCH! I was hurting big time because that was not a cheap fix. Just the waterpump, upper and lower hoses, radiator, coolant and gaskets came up to $2,500. My co-worker heard my plight and recommended Jorge. She said he was awesome. I went to Jorge's Garage several times since I have an old SUV, I was surprised every time by his techniques and very reasonable price. Several days ago, my starter didn't work well, Jorge found the problem and changed a new starter for me which only charged less than half price of other garage, and meanwhile, I bought a new alternator belt and asked him to replace it for me because the car kept making big noise when I started it, Jorge found the belt was a little misplaced, so he fixed it without charge anything and saved the new belt for me. one thing is about the driving belts. when I did oil change in Precision tune about half years ago, I was told that I had to change driving belts otherwise they may be broken anytime. they said it cost $120. I refused it at that time. Today Jorge help me check the driving belts and tell me that they are still ok. Even I want to change, it only cost $50!

Message: Jorge is great! I had taken my car to the dealer for a routine check and they found something that needed repair. The dealer quoted almost $350 total for parts and labor. So I wanted to check some other options! I looked at another local repair shop and they quoted $280. I was thinking that was a pretty good deal, so I was going to take my car there. But then I said...why don't I get one more estimate. That's when I called Jorge. His estimate was only $160!!!! I could not believe it, I had to ask again and again to make sure he was quoting the right thing. So of course I brought it to him the next day and he had it ready for me at the end of the day like he promised. He even saved me the old parts and the boxes from the new parts so I could see what he used, and he has a 6 month warranty on his repairs! I was so impressed. Message: My Honda Civic has problems with the Visor and left door handle. Jorge helped me find the cheapest parts and charged a reasonable price for the labor fee. After he realized that it was not to change a new handle, he told me honestly and returned the handle he ordered from somewhere else. In total, I saved almost half money compared with other auto stores (I went to more than one auto stores to ask price before I took my car to Jorge.). Subject: The most helpful, kind, responsible, and honest mechanic I have ever met -- Thank you, Jorge!
Message: I brought my Saturn SL2 to Jorge a while ago to fix the service engine light problem. At first we thought it was a simpler emissions problem (faulty solenoid), not knowing that the problem had to do with a much more complex problam: the PCM that gives off the service engine light faultily. As far as I know it would cost probably close to $1000 to get the PCM changed and reprogrammed at another car garage. Being a very kind and responsible mechanic Jorge was able to get a used, working PCM from his friend for free, and went all the way to get it programmed for me by going to the car dealer directly (despite the dealer's initial unwillingness to program the PCM without us buying a new one from them [which would cost at least $600]). Throughout the whole process Jorge did not charge me anything above the small amount of money that he charged me for fixing the solenoid, out of a belief and strong sense of responsibility that he should help his customer resolve their problems completely and fully. I am impressed by Jorge's honesty, kindness, and sense of responsibility, and can tell that he's is really genuine in helping his customer and always thinking in terms of his customers' best interest. I would highly recommend Jorge to anyone and everyone! -

Subject: Super Job with Low Charge
Message: I love my old car and wanna keep it for longer, Jorge makes it possible. My speed sensor stop working for a few months. I went to the dealer, AAA and other car care services, I was told to be charged at least $500 or even more for changing parts. Furthermore, some suggested to change this or that parts, (which was honestly told by Jorge later that was not necessary at all), totally up to $1500. I was upset and even considered to sell this car instead of spending so much on repairing. Jorge is the last one that I gave a try. He provided clear explanation, ordered parts immediately, and have the new sensor replaced skillfully. He only charges me $250 including new speed sensor and other 2 minor changes. For years after we moved to NC, we haven't found a perfect car-care-service until we luckily met Jorge. Jorge is proved to be a great mechanic by his great work, low charge and respectable honesty. - August, 2010, My 97 Honda Passport "Check Engine Light" was on.I went to a shop in Chapel Hill, they told me the code for the engine light is p0401/exhaust gas recirculation slow or insufficient. They replaced my EGR valve, which cost me $380, but it didn't fix the problem. I had to put the old EGR back. After I came to Jorge's Garage, Jorge used a scanner (Jorge said it is a cutting edge scanner) hook up with OBD2 sofware system on the car, and he fixed it for $60 without changing EGR valve.
- Jorge said, a guy came to the shop and ask him to turn off the "Check Engine" light without fixing the cause, because the guy wants to sell the car, as long as the light can be off before the car is sold, he doesn't want to invest on fixing the problem. Jorge refused the job.

My car had same problem as yours and I fixed it over there and passed the state inspection after. - Speed Sensor on my 99 Ford Taurus stop working, I went to one shop, they wanted to charge me $200 for it. Then, I went to Jorge's Garage, Jorge said the part is $55 and labor is $50, so Jorge fixed it for $105-->half the price of the other shop.
- I participated in a workshop that was led by Jorge at his garage today (August 21, 2010). He went over many details on what to look at when shopping for used car. Details such as paint shade and how to tell the different shade to identify if the car was in an accident before. He also went over prices, engine and oil problems. I found the workshop to be helpful as i am looking to buy a car. I definitely will bring my car to Jorge's shop. He seem like a nice and honest person.
- Check engine light went on on my 2002 Saturn SL2: P0446/Gas evaporative control malfunctioning, I went to 2 shops, and they couldn't figure out which part caused the problem. After I went to Jorge's, Jorge showed me how fuel is sent to engine, and how evaporated gas is re-circulated back to engine, and he fixed the problem in 5 minutes.
